STORM WATER

With our control system, SPS, installed at pump stations in the stormwater system, municipalities can monitor all pump stations via SPS SmartControl. It provides information on operations, any downtime, flow rates, and more. It also integrates with other SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.

DEMAND-DRIVEN TANK EMPTYING

With our level meters and SPS SmartControl, tank emptying logistics can be greatly improved! An innovative solution for municipalities. Today, tank emptying is not planned according to actual need — you have to empty your tank whether it’s necessary or not. Not reasonable, not climate-smart, and not cost-effective.

Digital Monitoring: SPS SmartControl provides, for example, municipal stormwater pump stations with significant savings by reducing the number of physical site visits for operational checks. Extremely climate-smart!

Energy Saving: The control system detects any operational stoppages at the outlet and shuts off the pump to prevent overheating and potential pump failure. It saves energy by stopping the pump and alerts if the contents of the well do not decrease during pump operation.

Maintenance-Free System: Maintenance-free thanks to the sensor tube in the well, which automatically cleans itself several times a day from any debris, making it self-cleaning.

Flood Prevention: For example, if there are 20 pump stations installed in an area and a few of them operate at 90–100% capacity during heavy rainfall, it indicates very high flows in those locations. By planning a modification or expansion of the stormwater network, future flooding problems can be prevented.

Cost-Effective: Can be easily installed in existing pump wells.

Maintenance-Free System: Maintenance-free thanks to the sensor tube in the well, which automatically cleans itself from any debris, making it self-cleaning. There is also no health risk, as any service on the pump control system no longer needs to be performed in the exposed environment of the pump well, since no electronics or mechanics are installed inside the well.

The alarm log shows if the pump is idle, if there is a blockage at the outlet, or if untreated water is overflowing from the pump well. Because all monitoring is digital, the number of physical site visits for pump station checks is significantly reduced.

Installation: Can be easily installed in existing pump wells.

With our technology, the entire approach to emptying closed tanks and sludge separators can be transformed. We call this “demand-driven emptying.” The process works by installing Svensk Pumpstyrning’s level meter in an existing or new tank. The device sends the tank’s fill level to SPS SmartControl, which allows logistics to be planned based on the actual fill levels. Today, tanks are usually emptied once a year, regardless of actual need. With our technology, up to 80% of diesel fuel consumption can be reduced (source: JTI).

• Maintenance-Free: The sensor tube in the well automatically cleans itself from any debris several times a day, making it self-cleaning.
